Details

Hacke Hackspett vol 1 (1941) follows the misadventures of Woody Woodpecker, a lively and eccentric bird who spends his days singing loudly and pecking holes in trees. His behavior infuriates the other woodland creatures and earns him a reputation for being crazy. Despite denying these accusations, Woody begins to doubt himself after overhearing gossip from a squirrel and a group of birds.

In an attempt to seek validation and find answers, Woody decides to see a doctor. However, his choice of Dr. Horace N. Buggy, a fox with a Scottish brogue, proves to be an interesting one. Dr. Buggy's unique accent and quirky behavior only add to Woody's confusion.

As the story unfolds, Woody accidentally knocks his head on a statue, which leads to him hearing voices in his head. This experience further convinces him that he might indeed be crazy. With his self-doubt growing, Woody finds himself questioning his own sanity and trying to navigate the surreal world around him.

Hacke Hackspett vol 1 (1941) showcases Woody Woodpecker's witty and comedic nature, as well as his inability to conform to societal norms. Through his encounters with other animals and his visit to Dr. Buggy, the film explores themes of self-perception, acceptance, and identity.
