and a lack of communication within their families. As the movie unfolds, the audience is given a glimpse into the dark secrets and dysfunctional dynamics of each teenager's home life.
Shawn, the most normal of the group, deals with his parents' strict religious beliefs and hypocrisy. Tate, on the other hand, is consumed by violent fantasies and has a strained relationship with his abusive father. Claude, the overweight boy, suffers from emotional and physical abuse from his father and receives no support from his passive mother. Peaches, the only female in the group, takes on the role of caretaker for her disabled father while feeling suffocated by her father's religiosity.
Throughout the film, these teenagers navigate through themes of sexuality, violence, and rebellion as they search for ways to escape their suffocating home lives. Each character's story unfolds independently, showcasing the harsh realities they face behind closed doors.
Ken Park explores the dark side of suburban life and the struggles that teenagers face within their families. The film offers a raw and unflinching look at the complexities of adolescence and the consequences of familial dysfunction.
