Summary:
In Reno, Nate Poole, a former trumpet player, finds himself in a dangerous situation after having a one night stand with the wife of a powerful mobster named Happy Shannon. One of Happy's gangsters abducts Nate with the intention of killing him in the desert. However, Nate is unexpectedly saved by a group of Indians and embarks on a journey through the desert.
Eventually, Nate stumbles upon a side show owned by a man named Sam Adamo. In search of a telephone to contact his friend Harriet, Nate instead encounters Lily Luster, a captivating woman with wings. Intrigued by Lily, Nate invites her to join him in Reno.
Unfortunately, Sam kidnaps Nate with the intention of killing him using a snake. However, Lily comes to his rescue, saving him with a truck. Together, Nate and Lily form a unique bond as they navigate the challenges of their unconventional relationship.
