Tammy is a hilarious comedy film that follows the misadventures of the titular character, played by Melissa McCarthy. Tammy is having a rough time - she just got fired from her job, and when she returns home, she catches her husband cheating on her. In a state of frustration, she decides to leave and heads to her parents' house, only to be denied the use of her mother's car to go to Niagara Falls.
Instead, Tammy turns to her ailing grandmother, Grandma Pearl, for help. Surprisingly, Grandma Pearl agrees to join Tammy on a road trip to Niagara Falls. Little do they know that Grandma Pearl is quite a handful, with a penchant for alcohol despite her diabetes. As they hit the road, Tammy becomes more like a babysitter than a companion to her grandmother.
