Details

In the dystopian world of The Lobster, single people face a grim fate. These individuals are brought to The Hotel, where they must find a suitable romantic partner within just 45 days. Failure to do so results in their transformation into animals and being exiled to The Woods.

The protagonist, David, arrives at The Hotel after his wife leaves him for another man. He is determined to find a new partner in order to avoid becoming a beast. Alongside him are other individuals, each with their own quirks and insecurities.

The search for a partner is governed by strict rules and regulations, with guests attending social events and participating in activities to increase their chances of forming a connection. Amidst this pressure, David finds himself drawn to a fellow guest, but their shared characteristic, which initially brings them together, also puts their potential relationship at risk.

As time runs out, the guests must decide whether to conform to society's expectations or take their chances in The Woods. This dark and unconventional love story poses thought-provoking questions about the nature of relationships, societal norms, and the lengths individuals will go to find love. Will David find his true match, or will he meet a heartbreaking fate as a beast in the unforgiving wilderness?
