Details
Brightburn (2019) is an intense and suspenseful sci-fi horror film that explores the dark side of a superpowered alien child. The movie poses an intriguing question: What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?
Set in a small rural town, Brightburn follows the story of a loving couple, Tori and Kyle, who desperately want a child. Their dreams come true when a mysterious spaceship crash-lands near their farm, revealing a baby boy. As the years go by, the parents discover that their son, Brandon, possesses extraordinary powers. However, these powers don't lead him towards a heroic path, but rather towards a dark and malevolent one.
The film takes a deeply psychological approach as it explores the moral dilemmas faced by Brandon's parents while they uncover the horrifying truth about their son's true nature. The tension mounts as Brandon's powers grow stronger, and he starts using them to wreak havoc on the town and those who stand in his way.
Directed by David Yarovesky, Brightburn is a unique and gripping take on the superhero genre. It's a chilling and thought-provoking film that delves into the concept of evil hiding behind a seemingly innocent facade.
