Details
In the comedic film CB4 released in 1993, a young filmmaker decides to create a documentary about the rise to fame of the rap group CB4 by closely following their journey. However, the group's success is not without controversy, as they have achieved stardom by appropriating the identity of the notorious gangster rapper, Gusto. As CB4's popularity skyrockets, Gusto becomes determined to seek revenge against the group that has stolen his name, background, and image.
The film explores themes of identity, fame, and the perils of celebrity as CB4 navigate their newfound success while also trying to evade the wrath of the vengeful Gusto. With its witty humor and sharp social commentary, CB4 offers a satirical look at the world of hip-hop and the impact of cultural appropriation in the music industry. As tensions rise and conflicts escalate, the characters must confront the consequences of their actions and decide what truly defines their individuality in the cutthroat music business.
