In Deserted (2016), 24-year-old Jae, recently released from prison for killing her mother, reluctantly returns to her childhood home in Ridgecrest, seeking solace and sanctuary. Feeling suffocated by the memories and burden of her past, Jae decides to accompany her brother on a road trip to Death Valley in a bid to escape their troubles. However, their journey takes a perilous turn when they find themselves lost in the harsh and unforgiving landscape of Death Valley.
