While protecting a signatory to a peace treaty between their peoples, a male human and a female demon discover that their mutual attraction may be the key to unifying their worlds.

A young swordsman ventures into a disaster stricken Shinjuku, Tokyo, to try and stop a powerful man, who has made a deal with the demon realm, from opening a portal that will allow demons to cross over to the human world.

A vagabond swordsman is aided by a kunoichi and a spy in battling a demonic clan of killers - led by a ghost from his past - who are bent on overthrowing the Tokugawa Shogunate.
