Details

In 1938, Walter Neff, a seasoned salesman at the Pacific All Risk Insurance Co., becomes enamored with the alluring Phyllis Dietrichson, the wife of one of his clients. The two enter into an illicit affair, and soon, Phyllis proposes a sinister plan to kill her husband and collect the proceeds from his accident insurance policy.

Walter, enticed by the prospect of a large sum of money, devises a scheme to ensure they receive double the amount by exploiting a double indemnity clause in the insurance policy. They set their plan in motion, and when Mr. Dietrichson is found dead on a train track, the authorities initially rule it as an accidental death.

However, Walter's best friend and insurance analyst, Barton Keyes, suspects foul play. He refuses to accept the accidental death verdict and begins investigating the case further. Keyes becomes convinced that Phyllis orchestrated her husband's murder with the help of another man.

As the investigation advances, Walter finds himself trapped in a web of deceit, paranoia, and danger. With the walls closing in, he must outsmart his friend and the police while attempting to protect himself and Phyllis from the truth.

Double Indemnity, a classic film noir, delves into the dark depths of greed, lust, and manipulation. Will Walter and Phyllis manage to evade justice, or will the truth finally be exposed?
