In Kicking & Screaming (2005), Phil Weston, a family man, has been haunted by his father's competitive nature his entire life. When Phil takes on the coaching duties of a kids' soccer team, he finds himself replicating his father's dysfunctional way of relating.

As Phil tries to turn his team, the Tigers, into winners, he becomes obsessed with winning at all costs. He enlists the help of Mike Ditka, a legendary football coach, to turn his team into champions.
