In the 2013 film Prince Avalanche, two highway road workers, Alvin and Lance, escape their city lives for a summer in 1988. As they paint lines on the desolate roads, the isolated landscape becomes a backdrop for misadventures, as the men navigate their strained relationship and the women they left behind.
Amid the tranquility of the wilderness, tensions rise between Alvin, a serious and introspective individual, and Lance, a carefree and irresponsible character. Their contrasting personalities lead to humorous and poignant moments as they confront their own insecurities and desires.
As the summer progresses, Alvin and Lance experience personal growth and self-discovery, ultimately forming a deeper bond despite their differences. Through their interactions with each other and the women in their lives, the men learn valuable lessons about friendship, love, and the importance of communication.
Prince Avalanche is a captivating and thought-provoking film that explores themes of human connection, solitude, and personal growth against the backdrop of a beautifully rugged landscape.
